iCET successfully host China’s first ever Global Clean Vehicle Summit

 

On September 23, 2015, Global Clean Vehicle Summit 2015, which was hosted by the Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation, the US Clean Tech Center, and Jiangsu Wujin Hi-tech Investment Holdings Limited, had its grand opening Changzhou Wujin Gehu Park. Industry leaders such as Tesla , Beiqi , Ford , Toyota, General Motors, Fiat , Chrysler , Nissan, Zotye , Cummins Westport , Denso , Bosch, ThyssenKrupp, government officals, industry associations, NGO organizations and industry foundations all gathered to attend the event.

Global Clean Vehicle Summit Launch Ceremony

    

As China's first " clean car " themed international conference, GCVS aims to promote global clean car technology cooperation and international advanced policy as well as marketing experience exchanges, to encourage China and the global clean vehicle industry, and to contribute sustainable development worldwide. More than 300 political and business leaders were invited to the summit. The summit was a two-day event, which was divided into 5 themed forums: 1. New Energy Automobiles Innovation Sub Forum 2. Passenger Car Energy Saving Technology Innovation Sub Forum 3. Commercial Clean Tech Innovation Forum 4. Clean Automotive Innovation and Investment Forum 5. Innovative Clean Vehicle Technology Release Conference.

 

The summit re-defines clean vehicles as "green, low-carbon, clean", and endorse "innovation, exchange and cooperation " as the concept. It is a comprehensive exhibition and seminar to discuss wheel smog, traditional car cleaning, new technology, new equipment, as well as future development of new energy vehicle industry. On the evening of Sep.23rd, GCVS 2015’s Green Car China List Released Conference and Award Ceremony was held at Wujin Shangri-La Hotel. Green Car China List is a nonprofit and independent evaluation system that is created by the United Nations Environment Programme, Ministry of Environmental Protection Vehicle Emission Control Center, and Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation. It aims to promote public environmental vehicle purchase concept and consumer behavior change. Furthermore, Green Car China List also encourages enterprises to save energy, protect environment and be innovative, which accelerates into the era of clean vehicles. US Embassy Counselor Mr. Val Huston, US Consulate General (Shanghai) Counselor Mr. Wellington Chu, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association China chief representative Dominik Declercq, local government officials, as well as well-known investors and other guests give out awards for the Ten Best Green Cars, Two Environmental Innovative Corporation Award, and three 2016 Future Environmental Star Awards.

 

On Sep. 24th, the clean vehicle test drive departure ceremony starts with Tesla as the lead. More than 20 vehicles followed the lead. With China's economic development, there has been more attention to improvement of people's living standards, quality of life, as well as quality of the environment. Green consumption and sustainable consumption concept are more accepted in China. GCVS received extensive attention from the mainstream media and industry media; for instance, media reporters from Xinhua News Agency, Xinhua Daily , Phoenix, Sina, Sohu , Tengxun , Jiangsu Network gathered to interview the participants and report the event. GCVS was a great success, which creates a platform for domestic and foreign enterprises to exchange excellent technologies, to endorse policy communication, capital joint, and industry collaboration.
