News I iCET presents its most recent 2014 Annual China Green Car highlights at the UNEP "Sustainable Consumption Week"
The UN has chosen "sustainable production and consumption" theme for its China-held Global Sustainable Energy week event series, in alignment with Li Keqiang's recent call for the general public to actively participate in the earlier announced “War on Pollution". As vehicle emissions are claimed to be typically responsible for over 30% of city-center air pollution, as China's car market annual sales in the past two years surpassed analysts' predictions, and since the vehicle segment was inevitably identified as one of seven key sources of urban pollution by the Chinese government, iCET was invited to share its unique work and experiences on assessing China's vehicle market GHG and emissions footprint, and promoting more sustainable cars production and purchase choices in China. Maya Ben Dror have shared several hey 2014 China Green Car report highlights with attending stakeholders from the central and Beijing municipal government, as well as global and local NGOs, associations and industry players working on advancing sustainable production and consumption in China.
